Gerry Gunadasa
Principle consulting officer

Gerry has over 40 years of general insurance  experience having commenced the insurance at Mackwoods Limited in 1962, who were Principal Agents for   Royal Exchange Assurance of London.  And subsequently joining Insurance Corporation of Sri Lanka on 1st December 1963 consequent to the nationalization of general insurance business.   He was the Fire Manager prior to taking an overseas appointment as Branch Manager at INSCO Dubai, who were principal agents for Prudential Assurance of London an Insurance Company of North America.  

After five years in Dubai he moved to National Company for Corporative Insurance (NCCI) in Saudia Arabia as the Head of Underwriting and served this Organisation for 13 years.  NCCI is the leading Insurance Company in Saudi Arabia and in the Middle East and Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency is a shareholder of NCCI.

Having served 18 years in the Middle East, Gerry returned to Sri Lanka and joined Asian Alliance Insurance Company as General Manager, (Non Life) in 2003 and joined HNB Assurance as General Manager (General) on 1st July 2005 and served HNBA till the acceptance of the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer at MBSL Insurance on 1st August 2009. 

On 1st December 2009 Gerry joined CONTINENT INSURANCE LANKA LIMITED  which is a new entrant to the Insurance Industry as Principal / Specified Officer and Technical Consultant. 

Gerry is a Chartered Insurer and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London.
