MBSL Insurance Company Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of the Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka – the premier merchant bank in the country. Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka is in turn under the patronage of Bank of Ceylon – the largest bank in the country, which consists of 303 Branches Island wide, and is fully owned by the Government of Sri Lanka.

Mr. Sydney Gajanayake
Managing Director

Mr. Sydney Gajanayake possesses over 25 year experience in the Corporate Sector. Venturing into the apparel sector over two decades ago, he founded and managed five apparel factories in Sri Lanka and in Kenya. He has also held the positions of Chairman – Apparel Exporters Association (2005 – 2007), Deputy Chairman – JAAF (2006 – 2008), Director – Textile Quota Board (2003 – 2005).

He possesses a B.Com (Special) from the University of Sri Jayawardhanapura - SL, MSc. (IT) from the University of Keelle – UK and is currently reading for a PhD in Entrepreneurship Management...
